Keratin treatment in London
A keratin treatment smooths frizz and makes hair easier to manage, so it dries faster and stays sleek for longer. You might also know it as keratin smoothing, a keratin blow dry or a Brazilian blow dry. At GYO we use Lisse Design by Alfaparf Milano, and the results last up to around three months.
It's a good fit if frizz, humidity or long styling time is what frustrates you most about your hair. Every treatment includes a blow-dry and style, and we price it by the length of your hair.
Who it's for
A keratin treatment suits you if:
- your hair is frizzy, puffy or unruly, especially in damp weather
- blow-drying takes too long and the result doesn't last
- you want a smoother, sleeker, shinier finish
- your hair is coarse or thick and hard to control
If your hair is fine and your main wish is softness without losing volume, hair botox may suit you better. We'll help you choose at your consultation.
What happens
- Consultation. We look at your hair and scalp, talk about the finish you want, and confirm the right length tier and price.
- Cleanse. Your hair is washed to prepare it for the treatment.
- Treatment. The Lisse Design keratin treatment is applied section by section through your lengths. It's then blow-dried and sealed with a flat iron, and finished with a rehydrating mask.
- Blow-dry and style. Every keratin appointment finishes with a blow-dry and style, included in the price.
Allow two to two and three-quarter hours, depending on your hair.
Options and prices
All prices include a blow-dry and style. Long hair is priced at your free consultation, and if you're not sure which tier you are, we'll tell you then.
Results and how long it lasts
You'll leave with smoother, shinier hair that's easier to style. Results last up to around three months and soften gradually as you wash. How long they last depends on your hair and how you care for it, so aftercare makes a real difference.
Aftercare
A few simple habits help your smoothing last:
- Lisse Design is made with no waiting time, so you can usually wash, tie up and style your hair as normal straight away. We'll go through your aftercare on the day.
- Use a sulphate-free shampoo. Harsher cleansers can shorten the life of the treatment.
- Protect your hair from heat when you style it.

FAQs
What is a keratin treatment?
It's a smoothing treatment for the lengths of your hair. It tames frizz and makes hair smoother, shinier and quicker to style. Ours uses Lisse Design by Alfaparf Milano.
Keratin treatment vs hair botox: what's the difference?
A keratin treatment is about smoothing frizz and gives a sleeker finish. Hair botox is about conditioning: it softens and adds shine while keeping your hair's natural movement, which is why it suits fine hair. Both last around three months. Not sure which is right for you? See our hair botox page, or ask us at your consultation.
Is a keratin treatment the same as a Brazilian blow dry?
They're names for the same kind of treatment: a smoothing service that reduces frizz. Different salons and brands use different names.
How long does a keratin treatment last?
Up to around three months. Gentle, sulphate-free washing helps it last.
Does a keratin treatment damage your hair?
We always check the condition of your hair at your consultation first, and we'll only go ahead if it's the right treatment for you. Lisse Design is made without formaldehyde.
Can I have a keratin treatment on curly hair?
Yes, it's often booked to smooth frizz in curly or wavy hair. How much it relaxes your natural curl is something we'll talk through before we start.
How much is a keratin treatment in London at GYO?
£220 for ultra fine hair, £290 for short or fine hair and £360 for medium hair, all including a blow-dry and style. Long hair is priced at your consultation.
